5/3 SALSA QUICKSTART w/Sarah Riddle

Have you been curious about learning Salsa, but just can't seem to find the time? No problem! This 4 hour intensive workshop is geared to get dancers and NON dancers moving to today's most popular Latin Rhythm - SALSA! The class will cover Salsa rhythm, hip movement, Salsa timing, 3 basic step variations, three turn patterns, and more! After finishing the Quickstart course, students will be eligible to take the Salsa 2 weekly series, without taking Salsa 1! Don't miss out on this ever popular, easy to learn dance. Register Now!

5/3 TANGO QUICKSTART w/Jennifer Olsen

Argentine Tango has changed the lives of thousands of people around the world!
Come find out how in Jennifer Olsen’s "Tango Quickstart," - a special four hour workshop designed to get you out on the Tango floor in one afternoon! In this workshop, we will explore Argentine Tangofundamentals (such as frame, timing, and the line of dance) as well as progress to slightly more complicated movements. Students will gain confidence in and connection with their partner and the music given Jennifer’s user friendly techniques and tips. Come find out why Tango has taken the world by storm!
No prior experience is required. No partner required. Please wear comfortable shoes that do not stick to a wood floor surface (leather bottoms are best).

5/ 10 LEADS’ LATIN SHINES - 0n 1 & 2 [intermediate/adv] w/George Caceres
Take a break from all those turn patterns, guys! Follows love to spin, but we also like to see you strut your stuff (because then we get a chance to do it, too!). This class is geared to get leads out of the turn pattern rut and into the music with short (the key to any good shine!) and stylish shines that focus on ovement, footwork, and using the floor. Learning shines not only adds to your repertoire, but strengthens your dance ability beyond leading. Technique is the focus here, but style, attitude, and confidence are the result. Shines will be interchangeable between 1 and 2 timing.

 

5/10 SALSA STYLING FOR FOLLOWS [intermediate/adv] w/Sarah Riddle
You've got the rhythm and you have the moves, now learn what to do with those arms! Salsa Styling for follows is a class designed to improve the technique of the dancer; particularly in turns, and in perfecting frame. When it comes to arm positions (the #1 requested lesson for women who dance Salsa!) the focus will be put on How we move our arms and body, rather than where they are to go.Fluidity is the key to grace, and you'll learn it here. We'll even through in a mini-Shine combo to practice at home!

5/10 AFRO-BRAZILIAN SAMBA [all levels] w/Beto Guimaraes

!!!LIVE MUSIC in class!!!!

The high energy, uplifting, and spirited music of Samba will surely get your blood pumping as Brazilian born Beto Guimaraes leads you through 2 hours of blood pumping Afro-Brazilian style Samba dance. There is no partnering in this style of Samba - just you, the music, and really great workout! With recognizable African roots, the movements of this dance are aerobic and fun, rhythmic and fast. This class will focus on specific regional variations of Samba while expanding your knowledge of the music and Brazilian culture! We recommend you bring a large bottle of water and the blues to kick to the curb, because no body has ever left one of Beto's classes without a smile.

5/24 - Swing Quickstart Workshop [intro] w/Ann Marie
Have you been curious about learning Swing, but just can't seem to find the time? No problem! This 4 hour intensive workshop is geared to get dancers and NON dancers moving to this ageless and ever popular dance -Swing! The class will cover Swing rhythm and timing, basic Swing steps with basic step variations; three turn patterns, and more! The Swing Quickstart workshop fills up fast, so sign up ASAP! Don't miss out on this exciting and easy to learn dance. Students will learn the equivalent of the 'Intro to Swing' 4 week series material, plus some bonus material in a non-intimidating, low pressure, fun environment. No partner necessary, no prior experience required!
