Salsa 1 (intro) - Jan '09 WEDNESDAY FULL
Welcome to the exciting world of Salsa! Contrary to what many believe about Salsa dancing, it is a very forgiving, intuitive and easy to learn social dance. Salsa is not only fun, but socially relevant given recent awareness and appreciation of Latino Cultural. Born from Afro-Caribbean rhythms and Jazz, Salsa music is a web of complex, but repetitive rhythms that are energizing and uplifting.
Viscount Salsa classes are student centered - meaning the material and pace of the class is determined by the students in the class, not the intended choreography of the instructor. Our Salsa classes are fun, non-intimidating, and highly addictive! We recommend students of any level to listen to Salsa daily while taking classes. Here are some artists to look for: Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Jose 'El Canario' Alberto, Sonora Carruseles.
